Capacity Management - principles, approaches and tools

09:30 - Arrive & Coffee (08.30 for London workshops with breakfast instead of lunch)
10:00 - Presentations & Demonstrations
12:00 - Lunch

Being able to predict and manage the resources IT needs to meet the demands of the business is a discipline that is difficult to master. However, those organisations that are able to deliver effective Capacity Management recognise the significant financial, quality of service and risk mitigation benefits the organisation will achieve.

The process of Capacity Management requires business and IT to work closely together on initiatives and developments that will result in a partnership relationship where both parties will benefit.

This workshop will introduce our customers to Capacity Management as defined by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). With ITIL version 3 the workshop also explains how Capacity Management is a key part of the new Service Lifecycle approach.

Explained by practitioners with 20 years experience in Capacity Management, this workshop focuses on the practical steps and the deliverables required. The workshop will cover the following:

  • Principles and objectives of Capacity Management
  • Evaluation of the approaches and how they compare
  • Explanation of the deliverables involved
  • Examples of tools that can be used to predict and model the demands on IT resources

This workshop is designed for those who are responsible for Capacity Management in both technical and management roles.
