An Overview of ITIL Version 3 and what it means for the Data Centre

08:30 - Arrival & Breakfast
09:00 - Presentation & Discussions
10:30 - Q&A and Close

For those responsible for managing the delivery of IT Services hosted within the Data Centre there may not at first glance, appear to be a good link between ITIL ( the IT Infrastructure Library) and the ‘engine room’ issues of the Data Centre.

But that would be to underestimate ITIL in consolidating 30 years knowledge of IT Service Management best practices and how best to optimise the delivery of services to the business.

In ITIL version 3 the ‘Service Lifecycle’ approach makes it much clearer to identify the touch points with the Data Centre.

The first part of this workshop provides an explanation of what ITIL version 3 is. The audience can include those familiar with version 2 as well as those not familiar with ITIL at all. This overview will be presented by John McDermott from HP. John is a renowned speaker amongst ITIL professionals.

The second part of the workshop provides a forum to discuss examples of what happens in Data Centres and how this can be optimised by adopting various aspects of ITIL.

Kavanagh has 12 years experience in working with customers on Data Centre transformation and has experience of working with customers on projects that include IT Service Assurance, Automation, Consolidation, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
