Overview

This course gives administrators new to HP Storage Essentials, the necessary skills to be able to effectively monitor and manage their storage resources. Students are introduced to using configuring and administering Storage Essentials in a networked storage and server environment.

The course covers both the Standard and Enterprise Editions of the HP Storage Essentials software. Students will experience Storage Essentials integrated with HPSIM. The course will provide hands-on labs for topics presented.

Audience

• Administrators new to HP Storage Essentials

Prerequisites

The following course is required:

• SAN fundamentals Web Based Training (U5527AAE)
• Knowledge of HP Systems Insight Manager: Enterprise Systems Management using HP SIM (or) U8474S
• Monitoring and Managing Insight Control Environment (or) HE644S

Key topics

• Students understand storage management issues and how to address them with the HP SRM tools
• Learn to gather information about the whole infrastructure, capacity and manage resource utilisation
• Use storage essentials to discover the storage environment
